School is where a lot of us first start learning about money — from basic math and what things cost to saving up for something we want. Albert's mission is to help people make good financial decisions, so as we've grown, education felt like a natural place for us to invest back into our communities. This back-to-school season, Albert partnered with three schools— one in Los Angeles, one in Dallas, and one in Atlanta– and committed $400,000 total over four years. The goal was simple: help take care of some of the money-related needs around the start of school so students, families and staff could focus on the year ahead. We visited each school for a celebratory event, and to reveal the surprise donation: At Scholarship Prep South Bay in Los Angeles, we worked with the LA Sparks to refurbish the school's basketball court and host a back-to-school celebration with supplies, a carnival, budgeting activities, and a basketball clinic. At Arturo Salazar Elementary in Dallas, we worked with the Dallas Wings to remodel a teachers' lounge, giving staff a dedicated place to sit down, eat lunch and take a break during the school day. Then we came back to kick off the start of the school year with a lunch celebration for staff. And at Global Village Project in Atlanta, we worked with the Atlanta Dream to provide new equipment for the school’s tech center, and then hosted a kickoff event featuring basketball, school supplies, a hands-on budgeting activity, and bubble tea. The commitment goes beyond those events and projects. Over the next four years, each school will have flexibility to use the funding where it is needed most, and as those needs change. At Albert, we want the money piece to feel handled, so people can focus on what matters. We wanted to bring some of that same feeling to these school communities — taking a few concrete needs off their plate now, and giving them support they can use for whatever comes next in the school year and beyond.

Back-to-school can mean a lot of things hitting at once — supply lists, fees, clothes, activities, and plenty of financial admin on top of everything else families are already juggling. Albert founder and CEO Yinon Ravid recently appeared in a sponsored segment on The View to talk about how Albert is built for moments like this: helping people budget, save, plan ahead, and take some of the money busywork off their plate. During back-to-school, that can mean planning ahead for upcoming expenses, handling bills and invoices, and eventually even using Genius to take on even more of the admin — like helping find and buy school supplies at the best price. The conversation also touched on why education has become an important part of how we’re investing back into communities as Albert grows. That’s why this year, Albert partnered with one school in Los Angeles, Dallas, and Atlanta and is committing $400,000 total over four years across the three schools. The support looks different in each place, based on what each school actually needs. We shared the surprise during individual celebratory events at each school that we hosted alongside some of our local sports partners, and we worked together on executing projects of need: from a refurbished basketball court in Los Angeles, to a teachers’ lounge remodel in Dallas, to tech center equipment in Atlanta. The idea behind all these initiatives is the same one Albert is built around every day: make the money piece feel handled, so people can focus on what matters. For these school communities, that means taking care of some of the financial needs around back-to-school so students, families, and staff can focus on the year ahead. On September 2, we joined the LA Sparks at Scholarship Prep South Bay in Wilmington for a back-to-school afternoon with students, families, and staff, and to celebrate the unveiling of a new refurbished basketball court for the school. The day included a pep rally, a ribbon-cutting, a carnival with school supplies and a hands-on budgeting activity using “Al-bills”, and a basketball clinic with the Sparks. Down the road, the school will also be using some of the leftover funds from our refurbishment to upgrade their tech center equipment. We also shared one more surprise during the event: Albert is committing $130,000 over four years to Scholarship Prep South Bay. The commitment allows flexibility for the school to use the funding where it’s needed most as those needs change over time. At Albert, we want money to feel handled. Earlier this summer, we partnered with the Dallas Wings to remodel the teachers’ lounge at Arturo Salazar Elementary. Then on August 6, we returned to celebrate staff with the help of Dallas Wings star Arike Ogunbowale with a surprise lunch — and to share that Albert is committing $130,000 over four years to Arturo Salazar Elementary. The donation gives the school flexibility to use the funds where they’re needed most, and as their needs change over time. At Albert, we want money to feel handled. On August 4, we joined the Atlanta Dream at Global Village Project in Decatur, a school serving recently arrived refugee and immigrant girls, to celebrate the start of the school year. Students played basketball, picked out real school supplies through a hands-on budgeting activity using “Al-bills”, and enjoyed bubble tea together. We supported the school with new equipment for the school’s tech center, and then shared a special surprise: Albert is committing $130,000 over four years to Global Village Project, with flexibility for the school to use the funding on what its students and teachers need most as those needs come up. Albert loves Los Angeles, and we’re proud to give back to the community, especially in our own backyard. That’s why we collaborated with the Los Angeles Sparks to unveil a brand new basketball court at KIPP Compton Upper School. The newly designed multipurpose court represents more than a physical transformation — but a renewed commitment to youth, equity and community in South Los Angeles. We were also proud to clear the school’s sports equipment wishlist — donating basketballs, shooting machines, disc cones, and everything else kids need to enjoy the new court. It mattered to us to be ‘all over it’ so the kids could focus on play. The court’s unveiling brought together civic leaders, educators, students, and WNBA players (including Dearica Hamby), and it will serve students, staff and the surrounding community as a hub for recreation, physical education, and community programming. This is the first of several community courts Albert plans to invest in over the next several years in collaboration with the Sparks as the team’s official financial partner. We’re thrilled to further our investment in safer play environments for the next generation and the entire greater Los Angeles community. Last year kicked off our multiyear sponsorship as the Official Jersey Patch partner of the Los Angeles Sparks. Teaming up just made sense. As an L.A.-based company, we’re committed to giving back to the city we call home. Over the next few years you’ll see us on Sparks jerseys, in the stadium, on broadcast, social, and off the court as we continue to partner together on meaningful community work.
