ETFs and stocks
Albert Investments currently offers Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) and public equities (stocks). Investments in ETFs and equity securities involves the risk of loss and past performance is no guarantee of future returns.
Equity securities, or stocks, represent an ownership share of a company. Companies can issue stock to raise money to grow their business and investors can purchase shares of stock to grow their money. Stocks are sold through stock market exchanges and investors buy and sell shares through brokerage accounts. The value of a stock is dependent on the company’s earnings, future projections, demand and supply of the company’s stock, and other economic factors.
ETFs are a collection of securities that track an underlying index (such as the S&P 500). Such funds are subject to market risk, including the possible loss of principal. The value of your portfolio will fluctuate with the value of the underlying securities. Investment objectives vary by ETF and by the management style of a given ETF. Trading ETFs will generate tax consequences and we recommend that you consult a tax professional.
Albert Investments allows you to purchase fractional shares of securities in dollar amounts rather than quantities in full shares. Trading in fractional shares has risks and limitations that may not apply to transactions in full shares. The minimum purchase or sale transaction allowed is $1.00. All sales of fractional shares will be rounded to the nearest cent. Fractional share holdings will be rounded to five decimal places.
Your fractional share holdings are eligible to receive dividends in the same manner as your full share positions on the same holdings and any dividends paid on fractional shares will be rounded to the nearest cent.
Albert Investments will follow all applicable "best execution" guidelines and regulatory requirements for orders entered through the Albert app. Albert Investments may act in a principal or riskless principal capacity with respect to the fractional share components of a transaction. If applicable, the trade confirmation will disclose the agent and principal capacity components of your transactions. Albert Investments only accepts market orders for fractional shares transactions and does not currently offer limit orders. Fractional shares are not transferable and will be liquidated if your Albert Investments account is closed.
Apex Clearing Corporation or a vendor appointed by Apex Clearing Corporation will deliver proxy and shareholder material to extend voting rights to holders of fractional shares owned in Albert Investments accounts. Apex Clearing Corporation will add the fractional position voted by you to the aggregate vote total for all shares of the referenced security.
