About the Role
We're looking for a junior copywriter who can write irresistible editorial, UX, and ad copy. You'll be joining our "copy pod" of currently five writers; we write for The Post (Albert's irreverent yet relevant personal finance publication), product/UX, growth/marketing, organic content/social media realms, even customer service text messages. So you'll have to be game for all of the above. But it's okay to have a favorite.

Occasionally you'll also be jumping into brainstorms with the entire marketing team and writing fresh, funny, effective ad copy for Facebook, Instagram, and beyond. Plus TV and radio ad scripts!

You should be comfortable writing both independently and collaboratively. All in all, this is a great opportunity to grow a portfolio of journalistic, creative, and UX copy.
Things you're good at:
  • Finding stories. You're fascinated by money news — from stimulus updates to hot-button topics like UBI and crypto. You can pitch concisely and translate stories into our voice.
  • Listening, reading, communicating. If something's unclear, you know what questions to ask.
  • Paying attention to detail. This is where we intentionally plant a typo for you to find.d
  • Speaking to millennials and Gen Z. You know how to write for our core audience.
  • Collaborating — and being creative. You're a valuable member of our brainstorms, contributing ideas alongside every member of marketing.
  • And writing, of course. You love to play with words. Your writing can be funny and punchy without sacrificing clarity, power, or empathy. Sometimes our copy experiments with absurdism and sometimes it's meat-and-potato sales performance. You have the range.
  • 1+ year experience writing for a publication, brand, and/or agency
  • Enthusiasm for working at a startup: a fast-paced place where flexibility is essential
  • Ability to work in a hybrid office model: at least 3 days a week in office, up to 2 days a week from home
  • Good with meeting deadlines
  • A portfolio of your writing is a must — playful, compelling, of various lengths (please attach it or include link(s))
  • Competitive salary and meaningful equity
  • Health, vision, and dental insurance
  • Daily meals provided
  • Monthly wellness stipend
  • 401(k) match
